District Two: Pothole asphalt filling has accelerated

Bookmark and Share

It has been a good week in District 2. But our rock hauling has slowed. Last month we broke our record for rock with over 4500 tons (200 loads) hauled into the district. This week we had two truckers with a third on Friday replacing the closed bridge at Peebly and Simmons with a temporary culvert using our dozer and trackhoe .This is the first step towards the detour route for Luther Rd when three bridges are planned to be replaced in F’17 using CIRB Motor Vehicle Use Tax.

Midwest from Seward to Camp has been restabilized with shale and rock and CR 76 from Hiwassee to Henney has been widened and made much safer for those residents.

Pothole asphalt filling has accelerated with several additions in Green Oaks Estates being helped as well as our failing sectionline roads. We have other additions we will be helping soon. One and a half paved miles should be paved with a grant on Green Oaks Way and Cedar Ln during May on these high traffic roads.

The resculpting of the hill soon to be Loves at the Hwy 33 and I-35 intersection is close to having its first concrete pad started next week as the project manager arrives Monday from his just finished Loves in N. Dakota. The waterline being built by Rural Water District 1 is 3 miles south of Hwy 33 and will soon join the confusion.

Next Friday, April 17, the county will close for 89er Day. Please come to Guthrie and enjoy the parade and festivities marking Guthrie’s 108th birthday!

Please remember that we have a rolloff for all that unwanted furniture, appliances and junk that is free for all residents to use. Please do not litter our roads.

Our phones are your way of notifying us of road conditions. Do not count on “someone else” to keep us informed. We will respond as soon as we are able. Our office is 282-3405 and my cell is 405-650-0384. Or email us at commissiondistrict2@gmail.com.
