Fire crews responded to a grass fire west of Guthrie that burnt up 100 acres on Tuesday afternoon.

The Guthrie Fire Department responded to the intersection of Prairie Grove and Penn for a working grass fire just after 4 p.m.

Guthrie, along with Deer Creek and Oak Cliff Fire Departments, had the fire out by 4:40 p.m.

Deer Creek and Oak Cliff aided Guthrie with both a tanker and brush truck.

According to Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow, the fire was started by an equipment malfunction at the Buffalo Ranch.

Harlow reminds workers and citizens to be careful outdoors with the current weather conditions.
