Six Logan County fire departments took down a grass fire on a hot Friday afternoon. In total, 50 acres had been scorched in the southeast portion of the county.
Smoke filled the air just blocks from where the May 4 wildfire took place. The location of this fire was near the intersection of Triplett and Douglas roads to the south and east into.
Emergency Manager David Ball says a farmer was cutting hay and is what sparked the fire.
Sooner, Guthrie Woodcrest, Coyle Meridian and Oak Cliff fire departments helped put down the fire with brush trucks and tankers. Also, Red Cross was dispatched to help assist the firefighters.
Ball says the Sooner department will likely be out in the area into the night to keep the fire fully contained.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
