Arkansas Tech senior pitcher, and former Guthrie stand-out, Bailey Shaffer was honored by the Great American Conference as the league’s Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Shaffer kept the Henderson State offense at bay as she threw seven scoreless innings inside the circle during the series. She posted six scoreless innings of relief to earn her first victory of the season in a 1-0, 10-inning affair.
Shaffer struck out eight in the victory.
A 2015 Guthrie High School graduate, Shaffer was selected to the Oklahoma High School Softball Coaches Association All-State team after she batted .537 with seven home runs and several wins in the circle in her senior campaign for the Lady Jays.
