Girard takes BOE seat; board assigns new positions

Matt Girard was officially welcomed to the Board of Education for Guthrie Public Schools Monday evening. The BOE also reorganized their positions.

Girard was sworn in by Samantha Stewart, who serves as the district’s Clerk of the Board. Girard ran unopposed for the Ward 4 seat and replaces Jennifer Bennett-Johnson, who did not seek re-election.

Afterwards, the board unanimously voted to approve Travis Sallee as the board president, Ron Plagg the first vice president, Chris Schroeder as the second vice president, Tina Smedley as the board clerk and Janna Pierson as deputy ward clerk.
