GPS and City renew School Resource Officers partnership

The City of Guthrie and Guthrie Public Schools continue to work together to keep children safe as possible while at school by providing School Resource Officers (SRO).

The City has budgeted for three SRO’s to assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment.

The amount paid by the school district will be in the amount of $32,000.00 per officer ($64,000 total). This agreement covers the nine months that school is in session.

The total cost of the three officers reported by the City is $173,046.31, which includes benefits.

Each SRO is expected to overlook two schools each and among their duties will be to be an extension of the principal’s office and a resource for students, teachers and parents.
