Final renderings have been released for a new terminal at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, offering the public its latest look at the approximately $7 million project.
The new terminal will span approximately 5,500 square feet and nearly double the airport’s existing terminal space. Officials say the additional room will help the airport accommodate more pilots, passengers and visitors traveling to the area.
Plans for the facility include a restaurant with an airside patio, a 24-hour pilot lounge, conference space and offices for airport and fixed-base operator operations.
The project also calls for approximately 150,000 square feet of new aircraft parking apron, expanding the airport’s capacity to serve arriving and departing aircraft.
The new terminal represents a significant investment in the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport and the partnership between the cities of Guthrie and Edmond, which jointly operate the facility.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, at 11:30 a.m. Construction is expected to begin soon afterward.
Airport officials said the project marks a new chapter for the facility as it continues to grow and serve the aviation needs of both communities and the surrounding region.
