The Guthrie High School girls’ tennis team competed in the state tennis tournament this past weekend with four athletes representing the Lady Jays.
Makaylah Blake competed at No. 2 singles and opened the tournament against the No. 2 seed from Bishop Kelley. After dropping her first-round match, Blake battled in a tough three-set contest against Duncan in the second round.
Blake was one of four state qualifiers for Guthrie this season, joining Hollie Mitchell, Haven Hudson, and Lola Brown.
