Guthrie Library in search of board members

The Guthrie Public Library Board is looking to fill a vacancy on their board and are asking citizens with interest to apply.

Guthrie LibraryThe board members meet quarterly on the third Thursday of January, April,
July, and October, and serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on all matters
concerning the Guthrie Public Library.

Ordinance No. 2678 requires the Guthrie Library Board to consist of five (5) citizens of the City of Guthrie who reside within the corporate limits. All members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by City Council. Members serve a three-year term.

Responsibilities:
-Establish the policies of the library.
-Assist the director in administering the library through established board committees.
-Engage in short and long range planning for the library
-Serve as library advocates by promoting the library at all times through their daily activities
