Guthrie police arrest suspect in stabbing case; suspect on the run for 10 days

Update – April 10, 2015

Guthrie Police made an arrest on Friday afternoon in the stabbing case that took place on Guthrie’s east side on March 31.

John LambertPolice arrested John Lambert after they received a tip that he had arrived to his home.

Lambert is accused of stabbing a man in the neck at Gary’s Liquor store located at 2117 W. Oklahoma. The victim was airlifted from the scene.

Lambert, at first, was not willing to come out of the home, but after speaking with law enforcement surrendered without any incident.

Lambert is expected to be in court on Monday for his formal arraignment.

Guthrie Police are on the look out for a suspect who took off from an east side liquor store after stabbing a victim in the neck.

Stabbing 03312015Police are not releasing much information at this moment, but have confirmed one person was stabbed in the neck following an argument between two males. The incident took place at around 7:30 Tuesday evening

The victim was airlifted to a Oklahoma City hospital. His condition is not known at this time, but is believed to be serious.

Police, who is being assisted by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The investigation wrapped up just before midnight at the scene. Officers continue to follow their leads in the early morning hours.
