A steady presence behind the plate and a versatile contributor on the mound and in the lineup officially took the next step in his baseball career on Tuesday afternoon.

Guthrie High School senior Owen Wilder signed to continue playing baseball at Rose State College in Midwest City during a ceremony held inside the Guthrie High School library.

Wilder, the son of Todd and Sarah, has been a key part of the Bluejays baseball program over the past four years, developing into a reliable catcher and also taking on pitching duties when called upon. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways has made him a consistent piece in the middle of the Guthrie lineup.

In addition to baseball, Wilder competed on the Guthrie football team, adding to his experience as a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school career.

At Rose State, Wilder is expected to bring that same versatility, leadership, and competitive edge as a catcher.
