Members of the Guthrie Lady Jays tennis team are headed back to the state stage after a strong performance at the regional tournament, highlighted by multiple top-four finishes across singles and doubles competition.
In girls’ doubles action, Hollie Mitchell and Haven Hudson battled their way to a third-place finish at No. 1 doubles, earning a spot at state.
In singles play, Lola Brown also placed third at No. 1 singles, while Makayla Blake secured fourth place at No. 2 singles to punch her ticket as well.
With those finishes, Guthrie will be well represented at the state tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
Before heading to the state, the program will shift focus to hosting the boys’ regional tournament next Monday at Edmond Center Court.
