The Guthrie Lady Jays slow pitch softball team captured its second consecutive district championship with a dominant performance on Wednesday.
Guthrie rolled through the competition with three decisive wins, defeating Crooked Oak 26-0 in the opening game, followed by victories over Western Heights 11-1 and 19-2 to secure the title.
The Lady Jays offense was overwhelming throughout the day, as all 10 starters hit above .500. Guthrie totaled 19 home runs, three triples, 15 doubles, and 30 singles across the three games.
Kaya Wheeler added a milestone moment by hitting her first career home run during the district run.
With the wins, Guthrie improves to 11-6 overall and 8-1 against Class 5A opponents. The Lady Jays entered district play ranked No. 13 and now advance to regional competition, with pairings set to be announced Monday.
