Guthrie to raise money for paralyzed Bethany player during Friday night’s game

On October 23, in week eight of the high school football season, Bethany High School senior Hudson Haws went in to make a tackle, but in the process fractured his C4 and C5 vertebrae.

Now, Hudson is paralyzed from the chest down and will be transported to a Denver hospital on Monday for spinal rehab.

Schools and businesses from around the state have held several events to help Hudson and Guthrie is no exception.

The Guthrie Football Booster Club made a private donation last week, but another event is set for Friday night when the Jays host the Deer Creek Antlers.

The Guthrie High School student council and ROTC will be passing buckets in the second quarter to collect donations to help the family with the ever-growing medical costs.
