This is an update from a previous GNP story.

Debra Diede, 28, of Guthrie, has died from her injuries after a June 18 accident in Grady County.

The incident occurred on County Street 2950, two-tenths of a mile south of County Road 1550 according to ChickashaNow.com.

Diede and James Thomas, 35 of Guthrie, were taken by Medi Flight to OU Medical Center after the alcohol-related crash.

Thomas was driving a 1988 Ford Ranger when he ran off the roadway to the left around 5:49 p.m. according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper’s report. He over corrected, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway to the right and roll.

Thomas was admitted in serious condition with head, leg, arm and internal injuries, troopers said.

Alcohol impaired the ability of the driver, and the cause of the crash was determined to be alcohol DUI, troopers said in the incident report. Weather was clear and the crash occurred on a dry, two-lane undivided asphalt road.

Both Thomas and Diede were ejected and neither were wearing a seatbelt.
