Update: The search was called off shortly after 10 p.m. At this time the suspect and juvenile have not been found.
A Guthrie police officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle near the Guthrie Junior High and shortly after started a vehicle pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph. Later, that truck was seen on fire in northern Logan County and now officials are searching for a man and a juvenile female.
The pursuit started with a white Chevrolet extended cab truck at around 3:45 Tuesday afternoon. The pursuit made its way down Walnut St and as it passed the high school ran a school bus off the roadway.
From there, the truck made its way to Highway 77 before turning onto Highway 74C and plowing through a locked gate. The truck traveled approximately a half mile into a pasture (west side of Bryant, near County Rd. 74) where authorities found the truck on fire.
It is unsure what caused the truck to catch fire.
A perimeter and ground search was established and is currently still ongoing at the time of this article (8:30 p.m.). K9 Officers also continue to work the ground.
Authorities describe the driver as a white male with a black beard, wearing a dark t-shirt and blue jeans. The juvenile is said to be a Hispanic female approximately 8-10 years-old. It is unsure of the relationship of the two.
The Guthrie Police Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Logan County SWAT Team, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Cashion Police Department and the Guthrie Fire Department are assisting with the case.

Saw the helicopters searching the area last night. Wonder what the results have been. I wouldn’t want to be hiding in the woods out here. Rattlesnakes, coyotes, and “cougars/mountain lions” are just a few of the considerations.
