Homes evacuated after gas line break

Bookmark and Share

Plumbers in the area of South Cedar and Drexel cut a natural gas line Thursday morning causing some residents to be forced out of their homes.

The Guthrie Fire Department was called out to the 200 block of South Cedar just after 10 a.m. and saw a three-inch line had been cut by the plumber’s backhoe when they were working on a sewer line.

ONG was called to the scene and capped the broken line and had it restored just before noon. Residents were then allowed to go back inside their homes.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
