Housing addition to bring 260 homes to Guthrie

The final plat was approved by the Guthrie city council last week that will begin the process of 260 homes being built inside the Guthrie city limits.

The housing addition “English Farms” is tentatively scheduled to begin in October a half-mile from the intersection of Pine St. and Industrial Road to the north on the west side of Pine St.

In the first phase, 110 homes are scheduled to be built.

The entry-level pricing of homes is expected to be around $150,000 and gradually moving up to the price range of $220,000, according to city officials.

Matthew Gellenbeck spoke at the council meeting and says the project has gained interest of builders.

“We are considering several options, right now. Several builders are interested. Some are wanting to buy lots and some of them are thinking about buying us out. So, at the present time, we are moving ahead and developing it ourselves,” Gellenbeck said.

The project is scheduled to be completed in four phases.
