How the Jays opponents did in week 3

The BlueJay football team tasted defeat for the first time in the 2010 season in a back-and-forth momentum of a game to Enid 37-36. Here is how the Jays opponents did in Week 3 as district play is set to begin Friday night.

Duncan 10, Carl Albert 42

Kenton Whittington rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Carl Albert Titans past the Duncan Demons 42-10. Duncan falls to 1-2 while the Titans improve to 2-1.

Ponca City 27, Shawnee 40

The Shawnee passing game struggled in the win as the rushing game prevailed in the second half for the Wolves on the road. SHS running back Darrell Parker who carried the ball 21 times for 125 yards. QB Brayle Brown rushed 15 times for 91 yards.

Deer Creek 35, Tecumseh 13

Deer Creek’s Alex Christiansen ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to propel the Deer Creek over Tecumseh. Tecumseh committed five turnovers — three interceptions and two fumbles. Two of the interceptions were returned for touchdowns — 45 yards by Isaiah Byrd in the first quarter and 50 yards by Ian Smith in the final quarter.

Ada 63, US Grant 6

Ada got into the win column for the first time in the 2010 in a big way over the US Grant Generals. Ada dropped two competitive losses to rivals Ardmore and McAlester to begin the season. 

Noble , Chickasha

The game was canceled due to the tragic death on Chickasha lineman Cody Turner, who collapsed Tuesday while running wind sprints in a Chickasha practice. Turner died early Friday morning at OU Medical Center.
