Junior High Cross Country begin season on high note

The Guthrie Junior High Cross Country teams competed in Hennessey on Tuesday and started off the season in great fashion. 

With a field of 12 schools, the 7th and 8th grade boys team finished second with the 7th/8th grade girls finishing third. 

Medaling for the boys, included third place Riley Wilkerson, Zeb Talley fourth, Kallon Cyphers sixth, Brit Drake eleventh, Zach Allen rounding out the top 15. Finishing in the top 20 was Grayson Schlabach, Reid Watson and Jaydn Countess. 

For the girls, Raley Hooper took fourth, Peyton Read (15th), Gracie Ball (18th), and Kaia Calvert (20th). 

The 5th/6th grade team also performed well in their first competitive experience for many of the runners. The boys team finished third as a team.

Ayden Potter finished third overall and Clayton Carey finishing seventh. Top 20 finishes were recorded by Seth Wallsworth and Josiah Dement. For the girls, Taylor Schroder took third, while Jaydin Alexander took fourth.
