Kuruvilla medals in No. 2 singles at OCTC

The Guthrie tennis program returned to the Oklahoma City Tennis Center and participated in the Altus Tennis Tournament on April 5th.

Lady Jays

Cheyenne Royal placed 6th at #1 Singles
First round she played Moore and won in three set 6-3, 5-7 10-5
In the second round she lost to Heritage Hall 6-2, 6-3
In the third round she beat Westmoore in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 10-4
In the final round she lost to Chickasha 6-3, 6-1

Heidi Kuruvilla placed 3rd and medaled at #2 Singles
In the first round she defeated Moore 6-2, 7-5
In the second round she defeated Chickasha in three sets 3-6, 7-5, 12-10
In the semi-finals she lost to Heritage Hall 6-0, 6-0
In the 3rd place match she defeated Southmoore 6-1, 6-2

Sarah Howells and Carissa Mathena placed 5th and medaled at #1 Doubles
In the first round they had a bye
In the second round they lost in three sets to McGuinness 6-7, 6-2, 8-10
In the next round they defeated Westmoore 7-5, 5-7, 10-2
In the 5th place match round they defeated El Reno 6-4, 6-1

Kaylea Hopfer and Ryan Robbins placed 5th and medaled at #2 Doubles
In the first round they defeated Chickasha 6-3, 6-0, in the next round they lost to McGuiness 6-1, 6-1 in the next round they defeated Southmoore 0-6, 6-4, 10-7
In the match for third place they defeated Westmoore 6-2, 6-1

Guthrie BlueJays

Kirk Wilkes placed 8th at #1 Singles
He won his first round against Altus 5-7, 7-6, 10-4
In the next round he lost to Stillwater 6-0, 6-0
Next he played Chickasha and lost 6-1, 6-1 and in his final round he lost to Westmoore 7-5, 7-5

Dakota Leach placed 10th at #2 Singles
He lost to El Reno in the first round 6-2, 7-6
In the next round he defeated Chickasha 6-0, 6-4
In the last round he lost to Westmoore 7-6, 6-1

Andy Hartley and Seth Vicchio placed 5th and medaled in #1 Doubles
They defeated El Reno 6-0, 6-0 in the first round
In the second round they lost to Stillwater 6-4, 6-4
In the third round they defeated Chickasha 5-7, 7-6, 10-4
In the last round they defeated Moore 6-1, 6-0

Dalton Jones and Conner Johnson placed 7th at #2 Doubles
They won their 1st match against Midwest City 6-1, 6-0
In their next round they lost to Altus 6-4, 7-5
In the next round they lost to Moore 6-0, 7-6
In the final round they defeated El Reno 6-0, 6-0
