The Guthrie Lady Jays golf team wrapped up their season at the Class 5A State Tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City. Originally scheduled as a two-day tournament, weather forced the event to be shortened to a single day.
Despite the change, the Lady Jays battled through and finished 9th overall in the state standings. Duncan claimed the team title, followed by Carl Albert in second and Ada in third.
Individually, Maely Beeby led Guthrie with a 35th-place finish. Tatum Brown finished 39th, while Mallory Lemon and Audrey Allen tied for 45th. Taegan Reyes placed 49th in the field.
On the boys’ side, the Bluejays earned a state tournament berth after placing sixth at the regional tournament held at Meadowlake Golf Club in Enid. Justin Green paced the team with a 23rd-place finish, while Riley Wilkerson and Britt Drake tied for 31st. Jack Todd rounded out the team, finishing 35th.
The Guthrie boys are currently competing in the Class 5A State Tournament at Muskogee Golf & Country Club.
