Lewis and Clark honored as FCA All-State recipients

Guthrie High School’s senior student-athletes McCandren Lewis  and John Clark have been named and honored as Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-State recipients.

The banquet was held Tuesday, April 10th at the Cowboy Hall of Fame.

High school teacher Candy Griffin is the advisor for the FCA.

This past winter, Lewis signed to play golf at Northeastern State University while Clark signed with Wheaton to play college football.

Clark was named honorable mention from SportsQuest, a national scholarship program called Playing with a Purpose. There were 5,400 applicants only 10 applicants who came away with money awards. 

According to SportsQuest, athletes are selected for their academic accomplishments athletic achievements but most importantly their Christian Character. The recipients represent some of the brightest and most accomplished high school student athletes in the nation.

“(John) has the commitment and dedication to excel not just in the classroom or on the “playing field” but in the most important areas of life.”
