The Logan County District Attorney’s Office filed a misdemeanor charge of negligent homicide against a Guthrie man last week. The charge stems from a fatality vehicle accident from earlier this year.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Heflin’s 2015 Chevrolet Impala was struck by Mark Gellenbeck, who was driving a Ford F-250. Troopers stated Gellenbeck was driving westbound and began to reach for something in the passenger seat, went left of center and struck the oncoming vehicle.

Gellenbeck was formally arraigned on Oct. 6. Bond was set at $5,000.

If found guilty, the crime is punishable by imprisonment not exceeding one year, or a fine not exceeding $1,000, or both.
