Mayer, Boller lead Guthrie at State meet

The Guthrie High School cross country teams finish their season at the Class 5A State Cross Country Meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School over the weekend. The program finished with an all-state and honorable mention all-state performers.

The boys program finished sixth overall with 173 team points in the 14 team field. Guymon took home the team title with 58 points. Meanwhile, the Lady Jays finished eighth overall out of the 13 teams with 207 points. Bishop Kelley won the team title with 54 points.

Guthrie sophomore Mason Mayer finished his sophomore season with an All-State performance by finishing ninth overall. Mayer finished with a time of 16:41 in the three mile run. Carl Albert’s Terrance Allen won the individual contest in 16:10.

Lady Jays sophomore Kamryn Boller crossed the line in 13th place with a time of 20:22 to finish with honorable mention accolades.

Helping push the Bluejays to their sixth place finish was Lance Sallee (28th), Tyler Waggoner (51st), Waylon Ball (55th) and Jaxon Harden (59th).

For the Lady Jays they were paced by Peyton Read (51st), Hannah Smith (55th), Maddie Bishop (56th) and Gracie Ball (63rd).
