Guthrie Softball racking up post season honors

As expected, the post-season awards are coming in for the Guthrie Lady Jays softball program following a 23-10 season ending at the Class 5A state tournament.

With more accolades expected to come, the Lady Jays earned several all district honors. The Class 5A, District 2 awards are well deserved as the district showcased three of the eight state tournament teams.

Sophomore McKenna Tucker was named All District 5A-2 First Team Utility as she provided head coach Booker Blakley the ability to play any position in the lineup.

Freshmen pitcher Kinley Duehning was named 5A-2 Pitcher of the Year as she came on strong in the circle when the games matter the most. She finished with a 13-4 record. Of those four loses, three came against Piedmont and Coweta, who played in the 5A title game. Each loss was by one run.

Freshmen Haley Gallo erupted on the scene in 2021 as she blasted 15 homeruns to help earn her the District 5A-2 Newcomer of the Year.

Senior Elaina Clark collected All District 5A-2 First Team Outfield, while senior Eadie Jobe was All District 5A-2 First Team 1st Base.

Leach, Clark and Jobe were also named to the All-Region First Team at their position.

Earning All District 5A-2 honors, included sophomore Abbie Eichler, freshmen Saige Driscoll and junior Ashlee Eichler.

The honors may not be done this post season for the regional champions with more honors expected to be given out.
