Mize, newly-elected Oklahoma lawmakers sworn in

Three representatives with constituents in Logan County, along with all the newly-elected members of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, took their oath of office in the House chamber at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City.

The ceremony took place on November 15.

“Thursday was a wonderful day for me and my family,” Rep. Garry Mize (Republican) said in a message to Guthrie News Page.

Mize, who was accompanied by his young son on the floor, won his General Election by collecting nearly 71 percent of the vote.

“The last year has been extraordinary getting to know the many voices of District 31. I believe in our community and I want to thank each and every one of you. I’m excited and ready to represent you at the Capitol.”

Representative John Pfeiffer won his third election since 2014. Pfeffier (R-Orlando) serves Garfield, Grant, Kay, Logan and Noble counties.

Representative Kevin Wallace (R-Wellston) also won his third election since 2014. Wallace, who co-chairs the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget, represents Lincoln and Logan counties (Coyle, Langston and Meridian).
