Mobile home goes up in flames; four departments repsond

Black smoke-filled the air in southern Logan County on Friday morning. An alert citizen called 911 as firefighters arrived to the area, they found a mobile home going up in flames.

The Oak Cliff Fire Department responded to 3309 Brownwood Lane, which is located near the intersection of Coltrane Rd. and Simmons Rd., at 11:42 a.m.

Oak Cliff Fire Chief Tim Townsend says the fire started near a bedroom in the home. It was unknown how the fire was started.

Townsend says one man was able to get out of the home.

As firefighters were responding, they were told a woman and children could possibly be inside the blaze, but later found out they were staying in Edmond due to the home not having any gas turned on.

Deer Creek, Woodcrest and Edmond fire departments assisted with the extinguishing of the home and were on the scene until approximately 2 p.m.

The home is a total loss.

No injuries were reported at the scene.
