Motorcyclist killed in south county

One person was killed Wednesday evening in southern Logan County.

Multiple emergency crews responded to Pine Street just north of Waterloo Road just before 8 p.m.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1995 Chevrolet C15 pickup was disabled on Pine Street in the northbound lane when it was struck by a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle.

Troopers report the motorcycle struck the rear of the truck and was thrown approximately three feet.

The identity of the 58-year-old man from Guthrie has not been released pending notification.

The driver of the truck, who is from Colorado Springs, was not injured.

Troopers list the cause of the collision as “speed.”

A helmet was not in use by the motorcyclist.
