On Saturday the Mulhall-Orlando Livestock Booster Club held their annual pork chop dinner and live auction. This event is held yearly to raise money to support 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors at the Logan County Livestock Show Premium Sale.
Students in the Ag Mechanics class made a large shelf and a cactus watering hose stand that was auctioned off. The auction included sponsorships for Grand and Reserve trophies at the local Mulhall-Orlando Livestock Show and over 72 items donated by 4-H, FFA members, and local businesses.
Approximately 620 people were served meals throughout the evening.
The FFA and 4-H members helped set up, serve, and clean up afterward. After the live auction had concluded, the drawing for three raffle prizes began. These prizes included a John Deere Gator won by Mike Majors, a Traeger Pro 34 Pellet Grill won by Rickey Jackson, and an Apex 45 Cooler won by Lavern Downing. Congratulations to all these lucky winners!
The FFA or 4-H member who sold the most tickets was recognized at the beginning of the auction and received a $50 cash prize. This year’s top salesman was Jace Taylor.
The Lifetime Service Award is awarded to the family who has poured their heart and soul into the Mulhall-Orlando FFA and 4-H Programs. Chris and Randus Harman’s families were awarded this exceptional honor this year. The Mulhall-Orlando Booster Club also recognized the presence of the following people: Logan County Commissioner Monty Piearcy, Logan County Sheriff’s
Office, Logan County 4-H Extension Agent Carley Thompson, Oklahoma House of Representatives District 38 representative John Pfeiffer, and Oklahoma FFA Northwest Area Vice President Casyn Larman.
This year’s dinner and auction was a successful fundraising event for the Mulhall-Orlando Livestock Boosters Club. The 4-H and FFA members are very thankful to have the support of the community and booster club.
