Guthrie sophomore Tyler Musil drew a tough opponent in the first round of the Class 5A State Wrestling Championships inside the Big House on Friday morning.
Musil, competing in his first state tournament, was pinned in 1:35 into the match to Glenpool’s Garrett Wild. Wild collected a takedown just 10 seconds before the pin.
Musil (18-16) nowmoves to the consolation match against Altus’ Omar Pollard (33-13) in an elimination match.
A junior, Wild (37-4) advances to the semifinals against Coweta’s Dillion Prutch.
