Nicholas Zamora was named Guthrie Public Schools’ Student of the Month for the month of April. He was nominated by Central Elementary’s librarian Becca Creed.

Nicholas, a second-grade student, was nominated for his kindness.

“Nico stands out from all the other students because of his kindness and respectfulness he shows to students as well as adults,” Creed said in her nomination letter.

While always coming to school with a smile, Nicholas is the first to volunteer to help when asked by a teacher or student.

“He is a little on the shy side, but you can’t help but notice how he quietly offers to help others,” Creed said. “He is a kid who you can always count on to be doing the right thing and looking for ways to help others have a brighter day.”

Nicholas enjoys soccer, parkour, and his favorite school subject is math.

The district-wide student of the month program is sponsored locally by Foundation Insurance.

Blake Wimsey with Foundation Insurance presented Mason with a $50 Walmart gift card and spoke to the classroom about insurance.

This is the fifth year of the program that honors students for their character traits.
