Obituary: Lovina Goodman

Lovina (Holdeman) Goodman, 84, was born at her Grandma Louise Lovina (Lyons) Holdeman’s home on June 14th, 1937, in Aline, OK, to Marven and Nellie (Allen) Holdeman and passed away on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, in Cresent, Oklahoma.  She was one of four daughters.

At the age of 16, Lovina married the love of her life, Leonard Goodman, on September 4th, 1953.  Leonard and Lovina had three boys; Marven, Lonnie, and Timothy. In Enid, Oklahoma, they made their home where Lovina was a stay-at-home mom and wife until the boys were out of the house.  Lovina then had several different jobs as a babysitter for her grandchildren, a seamstress, and a picture developer at a local photography company. Lovina moved to Crescent, Oklahoma, after her husbands’ death in 1998 to be closer to her kids.

She enjoyed watching her grandkids, spending time with family, crocheting, and watching westerns on TV. 

She is survived by her children Marven (Cheryl) Goodman, Lonnie (Nancy) Goodman, and Timothy (Angie) Goodman.  9 grandchildren, Lon (Bria) Henderson, Jeremy Goodman, David Goodman, Kara (Steve) Narigon, Tyler (Carol) Goodman, Liana (John) Wilson, Jonathon Goodman, Taylor Goodman, Daniel Goodman, and Marcee (Jonathon) Pritchett; 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters Ruth, Janett, and Gale, other relatives, and friends.

Lovina is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Leonard.  Lovina and Leonard would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on September 4th.

Lovina has been cremated, and a celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future.
