Police officers deliver Citizenship Award to teens for integrity

Three Guthrie High School students were given a Citizenship Award plaque by the Guthrie Police Department for their display of high moral integrity after what they did this past March.

Peter Gaddy, Emma Christian and Chloe Houk spotted a woman’s wallet near the gas pumps of a Guthrie convenience store on south Division late Tuesday night after their high school soccer game.

Inside the wallet was over $300 and a utility bill.

Unable to locate the woman, the teens took the wallet to the police department, who was able to locate the single mother.

“Extremely relieved,” Sgt. Anthony Gibbs of the police department said of the reaction by the woman when given the great news.
