It is no secret with the Ponca City Wildcats. As Brent Wilson goes, so does Ponca City.
The senior Wildcat quarterback fell a few yards short of the Ponca City team record of 402 passing yards in a game last week in a 42-37 set back to Sapulpa. Wilson set the school record last season against Sand Springs.
Wilson completed 27 passes for 391 yards in the loss in Sapulpa.
Ponca jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but it was quickly erased on the next possession by Sapulpa. The first half was back and forth as Ponca scored just before the half to take a 24-21 lead.
Sapulpa set the tone by scoring the first 21 points with Ponca responding with the last two scores of the game.
The primary target for Wilson was senior receiver Garrett Parr, who caught eight passes for 211 yards.
