The Ponca City Wildcats will look to improve on a one-win season from a year ago. As one of the smallest 6A schools, Ponca will depend on multiple players playing on both sides of the ball.

Wildcats on Offense

The Wildcats rely heavy on their senior quarterback Brent Wilson. As a junior last season, Wilson completed 171-of-291 passes for 1,912 yards with 19 touchdown tosses and 9 interceptions.

Tyler Wilson, Ross Catlin and Garrett Parr will be the primary receivers for Wilson. The running game is something Ponca has struggled with in the past. They will hope Ethan Collins and Kit Herron can be that spark, but defenses must be careful as Wilson can tuck the ball and run when the defense spreads out.

Wildcats on Defense

The secondary appears to be the strongest portion of the team for Ponca. The defense must find ways to kept opposing offense’s off the field and points off the board. This is a category that the Poncan’s have struggled with.
