Guthrie Public Schools recently recognized their Certified and Staff employees of the month. For the month of May, Helen Berriger and Regina Clymer were recognized for their efforts.

Berringer, who works as the school district’s psychologist, for the school district, was nominated by Bailey Blewett for the Certified Employee of the Month.

“Helen goes above and beyond for all of the teachers in the district,” Blewett said. “She has presented training for staff on professional development day, but she also gives day to day assistance to teachers who experience students with challenging behavior.”

Blewett added, “She is such a great resource for teachers to use and she is always willing to help out in times of need. She is great at making connections with teachers and students.”

For the Support Staff Employee of the Month, Regina Clymer was nominated by Central Elementary Principal Dani Watson. Clymer serves as the lead custodian for the school.

“Regina takes pride in our building appearance,” Watson explained. “For the past two weeks, and several other times this year, we have been left without a night custodian. No matter how tired Regina is at the end of her shift, she will stay late to ensure that the essential jobs are completed and the building is safe and secure for the night.”

Watson says despite the school building being nearly 100 years old, Regina still takes pride in the building’s appearance.

“We appreciate her flexibility and attention to detail.”

Both recipients were presented with a $25 Sonic gift card from the Lions Club and a plaque.
