ROTC help spruce up Honor Park

Each spring and fall, members of the Guthrie High School ROTC unit organize at Honor Park in Guthrie to fix up, clean up and plant.

ROTC instructor Major Mick Fredrickson commented, “These young women and men wanted to help make Honor Park and the Veterans Memorial a special place for the veterans.  In a small way, they wanted to give back to the veterans who have given so much to our country.”

Steve Gentling, who supervises the maintenance of Honor Park for the American Legion Post 58 noted, “The ROTC students respond every year with doing the ‘heavy lifting’ in getting Honor Park ready for Memorial Day and the summer.  This year was no different and we are thankful for their effort and dedication to this veteran memorial.   On behalf of the veteran community — Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.”
