Search warrants results in six arrests; children taken into DHS custody

A few residents got an early morning wake up call after the Guthrie Police Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office served two warrants on two homes on Guthrie’s west side Thursday morning. An informant gave information about suspects selling drugs.

After officers forced their way into the residence located at 1901 W. Warner, a total of six arrests related to drugs were made, including a juvenile was also taken into custody.

Officers found prescription drugs, methamphetamine, marijuana and synthetic marijuana during their search.

Inside the home were five children, including a five-year-old. They were placed with Department of Human Services.

Animal Control impounded six animals, including three pit bulls and two chihuahuas.

A Guthrie police officer tells Guthrie News Page controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and paraphernalia were found in the home.

Bobby Lee Walker, 36, Kelly Dawn Sherwan, 37, David Lee Welch, 39, Nickolas Brandon Hafele, 27, Natasha Yancy Hafele, 28, and one juvenile were arrested. Each arrest are facing multiple charges, including possession of a CDS, maintaining a dwelling for selling CDS, receive and conceal, or engages proceeds from CDS, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession within a 1,000 feet of a school or park and possession of drug paraphernalia.

MRAP Search WarrantThe officers went on to say the residence once was a daycare, but now is a home that several people appear to be living in.

On the outside of the home several video cameras were seen with exposed cables. The monitoring system, along with several brown paper sacks, large monitor screens and containers, were taken from the home and placed into evidence.

The second house was searched in the 1200 block of W. Mansur and was related to the home on Warner.

Just less than two weeks ago, the tactical team served drug-related warrants that netted four arrests. Related story: Two early morning search warrants leads to four arrests

  1. You people obviously don’t do your jobs well enough we didn’t catch all of those charges. Get your facts straight before you write your stories.
