Suspicious vehicle belongs with task force agency

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has learned what believed to be a possible police impersonator is actually a task force vehicle for Noble and Kay counties.

Sheriff Imposter

Late Wednesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call from an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office at District 8 in Noble and Kay Counties. The vehicle in question is assigned to and operated by one of the District Attorney Investigators for the District 8 Task Force.

Investigators spoke with the DA’s investigator who was driving the vehicle, and made these traffic stops while travelling through the area.

“It is very relieving to know that this was not a “police impersonator” on this occasion. However, we want the public to know what to expect from our agency,” Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said.

“Again, all Logan County patrol deputies will be operating a marked patrol vehicle such as a crew cab four wheel drive trucks, SUVs, or Ford Crown Victorias. All of our patrol deputies will be wearing a traditional, black, law enforcement uniform with shoulder patches.”

On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report about the vehicle in the area of I-35 near Waterloo Road.
