Show-and-tell brings the gold ball to school

Show-and-tell is always a fun time for second grade students. Many will bring books, toys, and crafts, but Elaina Clark had another idea. A golden idea.

Elaina asked her brother John Clark and his Guthrie football teammate Bryan Dutton if they could come to her school at Fogarty Elementary so that she can show them off. Well, them and the gold ball.

The BlueJay football team won their third state championship in school history two weeks ago to conclude a perfect 14-0 season. Clark was credited for over 100 tackles on defense while Dutton helped lead the offense at the quarterback position.

Both Dutton and Clark fielded numerous of questions from the students from Mrs. Privette’s and Mrs. Datin’s class, including which team did they play for, how old were they, what position did they play and how many trophies they have won before.

Before snapping a photo with the state championship, the students wished John Clark a happy 18th birthday with a birthday song.
