The 2012 Guthrie soccer season started at the annual Rose Rock Tournament in Noble.

The BlueJays took two of three games while the Lady Jays won their final game after dropping the first two of the tournament.

The Lady Jays got two goals from senior Cristina Castellanos and one from junior Morgan George en route to a 3-0 win over Western Heights on Saturday afternoon to capture seventh place overall. Both Ada and Crooked Oak gave the ladies a 0-2 loss.

For the BlueJays, they too dropped their season opener to Ada with a 1-0 setback, but responded with back-to-back wins with a 2-0 win over the home team and a 4-0 win over Shawnee to capture the consolation championship.

Both clubs will be in action Thursday evening when they travel to Chickasha. Kick time for the girls is 5:30 and the boys follow at 7:30.
