Steven Haga named new Emergency Manager

Steven Haga was formally introduced on Feb. 26 as the new Emergency Manager for Logan County. The position was opened after David Ball announced he had accepted a state emergency manager position.

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) held an executive session, along with County Clerk Troy Cole and Sheriff Damon Devereaux, and interviewed two candidates after one candidate withdrew their name.

Commissioner Kody Ellis made the motion to hire Haga and was second by Commissioner Marven Goodman and was followed with a 3-0 vote with Commissioner Monty Piearcy.

The commissioners voted 3-0 on a beginning salary of $36,000.

At the time of the hiring, Haga served as a Logan County Sheriff deputy.
