Suburban Conference post season basketball awards

In one of the toughest basketball conferences in the state, the Suburban Conference has announced their post season awards and teams.

Piedmont finished the season as the regular season champions with an 11-2 conference record and a 23-5 overall record. For that accomplishment, Wildcats coach Ryan Wagner was named the conference coach of the year. Piedmont along with Carl Albert and El Reno qualified for the state tournament. In 2010 the conference had two state qualifiers and in 2009 had four.

El Reno’s senior Devante Moore was named the most valuable player and newcomer of the year went to Carl Albert’s sophomore Carlbe Ervin.

Guthrie’s four-year letterman Kentrell Brothers was named as the defensive player of the year and for the second straight year was named to the first team all conference team.
