United Way of Logan County kicked their season off last week with a luncheon inside the American Legion building in downtown Guthrie.
The committee chairman, Brian Padgett, announced their 2015 goal of $202,015.
Pacesetter chairman Josh Tucker, of Mercy Hospital Logan County, announced his team had raised $57,820.22.
The announcements were heard during a provided lunch served by members of the Guthrie High School FFA members and community leaders.
United Way stands ready to help provide critical funding to results-oriented programs at proven nonprofit agencies.
United Way of Logan County funds 11 programs at 10 partner agencies. The agencies are listed as being on the frontline helping residents of our community live a healthier and happy life.
Those include, American Red Cross (Logan County), Boy Scouts of America (Last Frontier Council), Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (Logan County), Consumer Credit Counseling Service (Logan County), Girl Scouts (Western Oklahoma), God’s Food Bank, Logan Community Services, Logan County Council on Aging, NorthCare (Logan County), YMCA of Greater OKC (Guthrie branch).
The annual donations raised helped 4,744 county residents receive food assistance, aided 548 residents dealing with mental illness and addiction, assisted 458 residents received services to help cope with fires, flooding and other disasters, 600 seniors were provided with meals and social interaction and 796 children and youth received care.
