Watch: County Commissioner Charlie Meadows sworn into office

Newly-elected District 2 County Commissioner Charlie Meadows was sworn into office Monday morning.

Logan County Associate District Judge Louis Duel issued the oath inside the County courtroom.

Along with friends and family, Logan County officials, including Sheriff Damon Devereaux, County Clerk Troy Cole, and Monty Piearcy, were on hand for the ceremony.

Meadows said the first duty was for the District 2 staff and himself today was to begin grader training.

Last week, Meadows collected nearly half of the 1,120 votes cast from the 11 polling precincts in a special election. Related article: Charlie Meadows wins County Commissioner race

This past February, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt called for a special election on June 13 following the resignation of then Logan County District 2 Commissioner Kody Ellis. Related article: Charlie Meadows wins County Commissioner race

Meadows will serve the remainder of the four-year term which expires Dec. 31, 2024.
