Williams, Lawson named Lions Club students of the month

Guthrie High School students Mikayla Williams and Chance Lawson were selected and honored by the Guthrie Lions Club for students of the month for April.

Mikayla, the daughter of Kimberly Williams, stays active in many programs and clubs at GHS, including Spanish Club, FCCLA, Link Crew, Science Club and the soccer team.

She has been recognized for her classroom work by being named a school valedictorian and a member of the National Honors Society.

She plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and major in biomedical sciences.

Chance, son of Kenneth and Stephanie Lawson, participates in wrestling and rodeo. He’s a member of National Honor Society and Science Club.

Chance was recognized as a member of the 2019 academic wrestling state championship team. In addition, he is a class valedictorian.

He plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in fire protection and safety engineering.
