Golf team endures tough conditions, field

The Guthrie Lady Jays golf team got to play on one of the prettiest golf courses in the state at Rose Creek Golf Club, in Edmond, playing in the Deer Creek Invitational, but the course has seen better days.

“Conditions were horrible – 35mph winds and cold, but we managed to get 4th place,” head coach Mike Longstreth said.

In a field with 6A schools, Mustang took the team title with a score of 356, Edmond North was second at 375, Westmoore finished third at 388.

McCandren Lewis finished in a tie for 5th individually.

Longstreth and the Lady Jays go to Cushing, on Monday. Last season, Guthrie finished second in last years tournament.
