6A schools becoming a problem for the Jays

Bookmark and Share

For the second time this season, the Guthrie boys basketball team has dropped back-to-back games. All four losses have come to 6A schools, including Friday’s 65-55 setback to Edmond North in the McGuinness Classic.

Guthrie (4-4) will try to salvage a win in the annual tournament with a 1:30 tip time against 6A Yukon. The Millers handed the Jays their first loss of the season in the Ardmore Festival, 41-34, back on December 28th. Yukon, who just entered the top 10 rankings this week, will enter the game with Guthrie on a three game losing streak.

Edmond North (3-7) was able to pull away from the Jays with their outside shooting and in the process scored more points than any other BlueJay opponent to date.

Guthrie is 4-0 against 5A opponents this season.
