Blevins wins state title, Lady Jays relays shine at 5A state track meet

The Guthrie High School track and field teams wrapped up their season with strong performances at the Class 5A State Track Meet held this past weekend at Western Heights High School, highlighted by an individual state championship and several podium finishes.

Leading the way for the Bluejays was Isaiah Blevins, who captured the Class 5A state title in the 2-mile run and added a runner-up finish in the 1-mile race to complete an outstanding weekend.

The Lady Jays relay teams also turned in impressive performances, including a state runner-up finish in the 4×200-meter relay. The 2026 relay squad included Oliviah Bryan, Jackie Howell, Cora Leach, and Madi Brooks. Guthrie also placed seventh in the 4×100 relay and fifth in the 4×400 relay.

Individual medalists included:
• Codie Carlock — 6th place, Long Jump
• Lily Rechlin — 6th place, Long Jump
• Lily Rechlin — Tied for 4th place, High Jump
• Madi Brooks — 4th place, 400-meter dash
• Ryn McCormick — 8th place, Pole Vault
• Gavin Hood — 5th place, Pole Vault

The boys 4×800 relay team of Isaiah Blevins, Wyatt Watson, Josiah Dement, and Preston Williams also earned a top-eight finish, placing seventh overall.

The performances capped off another strong season for Guthrie track and field on the state stage.
